Hero MotoCorp has launched the Hero Destini 110, priced at an introductory ₹72,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi), aiming to capture a larger share of India’s competitive 110cc scooter market. The scooter arrives with updated styling, fuel efficiency claims, and dealer-level launch offers.

Key Highlights of the Hero Destini 110

The new Destini 110 is available in two trims: VX (drum) and ZX (disc), with the higher variant priced at approximately ₹79,000. According to Autocar India, the model is powered by a 110.9cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 8.1 brake horsepower and 8.87 Nm of torque.

Hero MotoCorp has highlighted a claimed mileage of 56.2 kmpl, supported by the company’s i3S idle start-stop system, designed to improve efficiency in congested city traffic.

Design and Features

The scooter adopts a neo-retro design, combining chrome highlights with a projector LED headlamp and H-shaped LED tail lamp. It rides on 12-inch alloy wheels, with a 162mm ground clearance and a kerb weight of around 114kg, according to Rushlane.

Hero has emphasised passenger comfort, pointing to what it calls the “longest-in-segment” seat at 785 mm with an integrated backrest. Additional features include a semi-digital instrument cluster, a front glove box, and a boot lamp.

Pricing and Market Positioning

The Destini 110 is expected to compete directly with Honda Activa 110, TVS Jupiter 110, and other scooters in the entry-level family segment. Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer by volume, has framed the model as an affordable yet feature-rich option for urban households.

Speaking at the launch, Malo Le Masson, Head of Strategy at Hero MotoCorp, said, “The new Destini 110 underscores our commitment to offering reliable, efficient, and accessible mobility solutions for Indian families.”

Launch Offers and “Bumper Savings”

While Hero MotoCorp has not detailed nationwide schemes, multiple dealers reported introductory offers including cash discounts, exchange bonuses, and low-interest EMI plans, typical of scooter launches in this segment. Some dealers are also bundling free accessories and extended service packages for early buyers.

Analysts suggest this pricing strategy is aimed at reviving demand in the 110cc scooter space, where Honda’s Activa has traditionally dominated. According to market research by Financial Express, scooters account for nearly one-third of India’s two-wheeler sales, making the segment highly competitive.

Broader Context

India’s two-wheeler market has shown signs of recovery after the pandemic slowdown, with the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) reporting steady growth in scooter sales in 2024–25. Rising urbanisation and demand for affordable, fuel-efficient vehicles are expected to drive further expansion.

However, competition remains intense. Honda, TVS, and Suzuki maintain strong footholds, and electric two-wheelers are rapidly gaining market share. Experts say Hero’s aggressive pricing and practical features could help the Destini 110 establish a foothold, though sustained success may depend on after-sales support and financing options.
