INSPIRO'16 was successfully celebrated under the guidance of Director Ar.R.Babu, the present IIA-TN Chapter Secretary and co-ordinated by P.Smith Josva Selwin and J.Chrysolyte Gladys of the 2012-2017 batch. It was held on the 9th and 10th of September 2016. In accordance with the growing need of environmental awareness among today's architectural community, the symposium evolved around the theme "Carbon neutral". This knowledge would encourage use of low carbon or carbon negative techniques which would result in environment conscious designs and the growth of responsible next gen architects. Inspirational architects Ar.Sathya Prakash Varanasi from Sathya Architects and Ar.Sharath Nayak from Biome Solutions,Bangalore graced the occasion.
Various technical competitions under the trophy tag were conducted and the outstanding students were awarded. Numerous hands-on workshops were conducted encouraging the students and certifying the participants. Seminars by the guest speakers engaged the audience with valuable knowledge being shared on the platform.
Apart from the technical events, active on-spot events were organized keeping the participants on their toes throughout the event. Mr.Yuvraaj, dance master and winner of Jodi No.1 title was the guest of honour and judge for the cultural events. The evening was a grand celebration with students from participating colleges competing with each other in a healthy mix of fun and talent. The host college performances were in close tandem giving the event a rich character.
Kongu School of Architecture won the overall trophy with C.I.E.T, Coimbatore bagging the overall cultural trophy. The events came to an end with treasures of knowledge gained and joyful memories earned.
